汐 is very genuinely upset at the suggestion they might not be able to adopt Shigeko and another family could take her.

- He’ll genuinely do everything he can to adopt Shigeko, even if he’s not going to be the world’s best parent or the most ready, it’s important to him.
汐 keeps talking about being 竹’s bride so Shigeko starts insisting they at LEAST have to sneak her out for the wedding.
- And now 竹 has to follow through with the wedding because it’s Shigeko asking.
